Four Games, Four Distinct Places

The recreation grounds are built from separate playing surfaces, so no two games take turns on one general purpose slab. Basketball has its own court. Hockey has its own sports court set up as a rink. That separation lets each keep its markings, its boundaries and its pace instead of resetting a single surface between them, and a puck can run the length of the rink while a basketball keeps going nearby.

A hockey rink is not something most South Florida communities offer.

Racquet sports occupy the rest of the grounds. There are four tennis courts, in two pairs at either end, and pickleball keeps its own space rather than borrowing a tennis setup. The playground sits apart, close enough to belong to the recreation center but clear of the path of balls and pucks. Moving between games takes a few steps. The equipment changes; the lines never do.

A Clubhouse That Belongs to the Neighborhood

The clubhouse gives that active center an indoor counterpart. Owners can reserve the main room for private parties, and a working kitchen keeps the preparation in the building rather than shuttling from home. With restrooms on site, the room functions on its own from setup through cleanup. It is a practical shared room fitted for celebrations, which is a more useful thing to own collectively than a grand lobby nobody books.

The Houses and the Streets

Parkside was recorded in three phases through the mid 1980s, and knowing which one a house sits in tells you a good deal before you walk through the door. The houses are concrete block on solid foundations, and the lots run from about a quarter of an acre to a little over a half, with the middle of the range close to twelve thousand square feet.

Mediterranean is the common architectural thread, but the designs are genuinely individual. There is no set of five or six floor plans repeated across two hundred addresses, which is unusual for a community of this era and size, and it is why two houses of the same square footage here can feel nothing alike.

Many have been comprehensively renovated in the four decades since. Original houses sit alongside gut rebuilds on the same street, so condition varies far more than price per square foot alone would suggest. Impact glass, roof age and kitchen updates are the three things worth checking first.

The landscape has matured along with them. Trees rise beside the private roads and reach over the pavement in places, and natural lakes run through the community, with a number of homes taking lake or park views.
